Hi there,

I have just brought the Beta license for the Cinema 4d plugin and successfully installed the standalone renderer.

The only problem is that Cinema 4d is crashing on startup during the "Initialize plugins" section. If I remove "c4dOctane" from the "plugins" directory Cinema then boots fine

Any Idea what could be causing the renderer to crash my Cinema?

Cinema 4D R13.061 Studio
My card is a Nvidia GTX 295 (Driver 9.18.13.1106)
Windows Vista 64
I7 960 3.2GHZ
12GB Ram

Many thanks in advance

I ran Cinema as an admin and it sorted it!

Cheers!

I'm on the 0.3.4 I think... I downloaded yesterday...

It now opens ok but on my test it crashed (the card) on frame 12...?

Any ideas? is my card too old now?

Cheers!

Oh and the material preview just shows up as white with a coloured speckly line along the top edge...

since the plugin is builded on the 1.11 sdk, i suspect that the 1.11 limitations are true also for the plugin:
OctaneRender™ Standalone v1.11 (updated)
There have been some major changes in Octane which cause it to run a lot slower on pre-Fermi GPUs
(with compute model < 2.0). PMC and the matte material still don't work on these GPUs either. We
also have major issues building the CUDA kernels for these old GPUs, which is why we had to remove
the support for compute model 1.0. It's is becoming more and more likely that we have to discontinue
support for pre-Fermi GPUs in the not too distant future.
please, to all the users, fill your signature with your hw and sw configurations,in this way is much more easy for the developer and beta-testers find the correct answer, thanks.
