When I got mail with info about new release candidate..downloaded it so fast as it was possible..
I use ubuntu, linux 64 bit version..old version works well and I could do everything..(octane 1.0 beta 2, cuda 3.0)..
When I opened RC1 on linux and tried to load demoscenes or scenes that I have made last time (obj files)..Octane crashed...all the time..

I dont know what it could wrong...
please uninstall your existing drivers and cuda toolkit and reinstall the latest versions...

( Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: /usr/X11/lib/libglut.3.dylib
Referenced from: /Applications/OctaneRender 1.021 beta2.1.app/Contents/MacOS/octane
Reason: image not found )

See the image of the packages to install , I've installed XcodeTools.mpkg , do you think that it is necessary to install the others too ? ( many stuff to install ... )

did you make sure to pick X11 under the custom install options? I don't think it installs by default

enter this in the terminal:

file /usr/X11/lib/libglut.3.dylib

Does it show anything? I get:

Code: Select all

/usr/X11/lib/libglut.3.dylib (for architecture ppc7400):	Mach-O dynamically linked shared library ppc
/usr/X11/lib/libglut.3.dylib (for architecture i386):	Mach-O dynamically linked shared library i386
/usr/X11/lib/libglut.3.dylib (for architecture x86_64):	Mach-O 64-bit dynamically linked shared library x86_64

Hi,

I will ask my colleague marc to get back to you on this, as i don't have much experience with Mac OS X,
marc does all the mac stuff.
He's not online now, i'll ask him to get back to you tomorrow.

hidden system files don't show up in Spotlight searches unless you add the System files Are included option:

Anyway, I think this is a problem with 10.5 not having the right library if you're sure that you installed X11 and Xcode.
