Cuda is installed but when I start Octane it crashes ... see images
works fine here but I made sure to delete my preferences (always a good practice when launching another beta). Delete your preference file:

rm ~/Library/Preferences/org.refractivesoftware.octanerender.plist

and relaunch it. Runs fine

But the mouse button issues are still a problem. Command drag works for pan but right click doesn't do anything. Middle click works for zoom and left works for rotate though.

Thanks for the native OS X menu bar but I tried to add command-s to the save command with the keyboard system preference panel but it doesn't do anything in Octane:

They show up but don't work:

This release seems rock solid. For me, the previous release was not at all solid - but thats because I have some kind of techno-curse. If you want to really test something, send it to me and its very likely it wont work (because of this curse that I have).
Anyhow, there has been some serious voodoo, cuz this thing is SOLID baby :)
On a PC and i didnt bother to uninstall the old version - just ran the installer and away you go.

Only little thing that is strange is that i now have 3 x GPU in my computer (along with a 1200 W power supply) and Octane only recognises two of them. Windows recognises all three. Obviously this is not a performance issue yet since we are not at the multi-GPU stage yet, but i think it means Octane will not use all my GPU's

Well I do think that this was happend to me in beta 2, too, althou I didn't know the reason, but if the name of the obj file contains spaces it imports with a single material, I guess it doesn't read the mlt file, if you supress the space in the name loads perfect.

no org.refractivesoftware.octanerender.plist file in Library/Preferences ...

Honestly, I've tried everything...
I would like to test this new release, and it is kind of annoying to go back to the previous version...

Rad, will the ocs structure change? I'm thinking to start scripting a 'render script' for 3ds max to get camera position/fov and also light position (if for instance you create a sun light system in max I could try to workout something for at least the position of it and put in 'bruteforce mode' into the ocs. And after that, run octane with flags to read this file and some more options.)

Becouse if the file structure changes.. then all the work would be for nothing... and I think some integration to a 3rd party 3d software would do us all some good.

I've got some free time :P

I am writing this script for 3ds max but only for materials.
but the problem is that the written materials and exporter works with standard obj exporter ... but he does not understand the new materials and obj files to all sites used one material.
need to write your own obj exporter who understands the written materials.

but it is only material.
position of the camera, and everything else is not possible in obj format.
perhaps if you write all at once in ocs file will be both simpler and get full exporter.

Not /Library/
~/Library (~ is Unix for "your home user folder")

/Users/youruser/Library/Preferences

I didn't uninstall or touch CUDA. Just trashed the old Octane app and this file and the installed Octane and it ran fine. OS X 10.6.3
