i need to align the floor with my image... kind of screwed up . since i do not have feedback about my backplate in octane..
am i missing something ?

what would your workflow be to do that ?
i have a spherical hdri .. and dedicated back plate image

Am not sure their is a workaround for this. You could try this if it might help. You align your 3d scene with the backplate in your 3d app and use one of the old exporter scripts for exporting the frame and keeping your camera position. Maybe worth a try. Other than that I'd like to say that their was a feature quite a while back when octane was still in beta that their was going to be a full composite ui for models over images if I remember correctly, but not added in the final v1 release but hopefully might be the among the new features in the next releases.

BG Image is supposed to be coming... hopefully in next release candidate. *crosses fingers*
And like he says; export your scene from your favorite 3D app after you have your camera settings
nailed down to the floor.. I do a lot of compositing - and this has been the only solution - until we
get bg image.

although i have also octane for maya ... but it is so bad .. i prefer to stick with teh stand alone .. hooo boy

This is a crude workaround for sure - until we get bg image... but it works.
