Are the path tracing Ms/sec comparable between fermi and non fermi cards?
i.e. if a gtx 480 score 3.5 and a gtx 660 scores 3.5, are they equal in performance?

I think I'm right there with you in the old days. I was Mac at time though. Maybe earlier. My first "3D rig" was a Mac quadro 640. 33 mhtz,,24 Meg's of RAM. The hard drive was a whopping 230 Meg's. this was 1992. And yes, I remember getting photoshop on like 3 diskettes. That was photoshop 2.0 I think.

So yeah, I'm old.

Performance, yes. But those cards have different amounts of VRAM, so that needs to be taken into account. (btw, VRAM has no effect on speed)

Version 1.11
2x Asus Titan:

13,5 Ms/sec

Reacts very sensible to overclocking. But also heat. Goes down to 12.7 Ms/sec with stock cooler profile.

Funny. I started with Strata 3D back then and soon moved to Infini-d too. That was the first software that I used that had velocity curves. I was floored. I was soon beta testing for them. That was about '95 or so.

Hi,

I just get my new Titan gigabyte and test it with my small tower (with octane demo 1.10) :
PT wo shadows : 7.32 Ms/s
I have overclock the card with EVGA precision X 4.0 (GPU ofset + 300, and +500 at VRAM)
I'm happy because it performed (OC) as well as my 2x580GTX (OC too 7.37 Ms/s).
less noisy than my 2x580 !!
I7-3930K 64Go RAM Win8.1pro , main 3 titans + 780Ti
Xeon 2696V3 64Go RAM Win8.1/win10/win7, 2x 1080Ti + 3x 980Ti + 2x Titan Black
