Hi Octane Team

Is it possible to tag objects that they should not be visible in reflections? or coming soon?

It would be great.

Thanks.

Or is it any work around?

Because I have a light source that I want to be invisible in the reflection, but still give me illumation light.

There is a feature in Maxwell, Vray, Mental Ray, but not in Octane for "Visible in Reflections".
It would be nice in Octane too.

You can set the opacity of the light source to zero but that will hide it from the whole scene. Emitters with an opacity of zero still shine...

Hi Sighman

Ok, so it will still effect the refractions and diffuse?, because it`s still a light source HDR emitter. But not visible in reflections (because its has a opacity map)

I will check it out and see if it works. Thanks.

Hi

I added a opacity to the light emitter and it`s invisible for the reflections. Good!

But...

The refractions changed, I don`t get the same "light refractions/scattering" effects as before, When I had it without any opacity

This would not happen if I had a "Visible to Reflection" tag, The refractions could not change then...

Anyone who knows a better workaround? So I can keep the same refractions effects?

Octane Team: Will it be some feature Tags in furture?
