another +10 to keep a much needed feature on the minds of the octane team.

You guys be the first ones to make Render Region where you can define with a pen/path
and I will come to NZ and wash your cars for you!!!
My god, how many times in LW did I want to define a path for render region?... answer: many!
(to the best of my knowledge, no one has done this in any 3D apps)

with the possibility to paint in realtime the region that we are focusing.
With render region we have to start-stop-start the render if we want to move the area.

This would be a real treat. So often I find there is just one small area with noise, I just want Octane to focus on that area after 2-3k samples instead of looking at noise free areas.

to be honest Frank - I love that idea - but I only use octane inside Maya and I imagine it would be hard to do something like that with the maya UI.FrankPooleFloating wrote:You guys be the first ones to make Render Region where you can define with a pen/path

But a rectangle would be a start....

Rectangle will definitely be a start!.. not trying to complicate things.. only saying...
And I will likely only be using Octane in Lightwave - once plug is released (looks like
next week - per Juanjo)... but things can only be done in plugs when Octane does it..
so it (or other junk) would need to be in standalone before we could even begin to dream
of it appearing in plug.

I think Luxrender has smth similar. It's not entirely a render region, but you can brush an area on the image you want the renderer to focus it's samples.FrankPooleFloating wrote:You guys be the first ones to make Render Region where you can define with a pen/path
