well my problem is i dont know how to get the disco ball to reflect on the wall?
win7 64bits/ i7-3930k /32GB/ 3x GTX580 3GB/octane max 3.00d

Hi Puniska,

You will need to set the material to glossy on the ball, turn smooth off, give it full reflection and then either turn the index up or down to zero (actually, anything less than one will do).
Of course you will also need some emitters to shine on the ball, and note that this kind of thing could take some time to render out and you might want to use PMC.

I used a light setup for an animation in which the illuminated walls were lit by a glossy reflection ( caustic ) of a black body emmiter - basically the same effect you are after - MAKE sure you use PMC....

make sure your sphere is faceted with vertex normals set to hard and the shader has 'smooth' off.
