yeah, this was posted this morning in the resources forum.

i think this review is biased towards them, it looks like RC payed them or something to write it.
it's interesting to note that a week after octane render appeared arion was announced,
and a few months after octane render was release arion was released with the exact same features.

it's an octane copy 10x as expensive. :)

I couldent agree more with you ^^

Arion wont be any competition for Octane. Octane already has (and will have) more advantages then Arion, and the pricing policy of Arion is insane. Seriously, who pays so much for so little?

Just my thoughts.

Cheers.

It's not biased toward Arion, they are making some OK points, but it's not comparing to Octane..
Yeah the stupid part is that it costs a thousand euros, and has the same limitations like Octane has, and has no demo - which is in no way going to make me buy it and still I don't know how it works and if I would enjoy it as much as I did when started playing with octane..
But still, it really looks identical to Octane, and has plugins for cinema 4d :)
I guess the materials in Arion are the same like in fryrender - and I really hate their way of organizing and naming of materials, octane seems quite user friendly so far (maybe because it has less options), but still, the GUI of octane seems very simple, which really makes you concentrate on the object you are working on..
You should start making plugins, or at least give information to people who want to make the plugins, it's the way you will integrate your stuff quickly. It makes the whole workflow feel more professional.
