do we have any way of having that type of workflow ?
meaning ..
one hdri for lighting , but at render time octane would display a backplate image ? ( yes i know i can composit it , but it suck to have to find teh right rotation value each time )
any one ?

I make a plane where I want the backplate to be. Add a diffuse material with an emission. Load your image and link it to your diffuse node on the diffuse material and to your texture on the emission. have the emission be very low. If you are using an integrated plugin, you could move that plane around to place everything perfectly.
