motion blur published as working in maya??

Did I miss something? Is motion blur working in maya?

No, the Octane engine version Maya plugin uses does not support motion blur.
Perhaps the autor was talking about THIS script RickToxik wrote while waiting for this feature to be implemented in Octane engine?..

The script was posted after the article was released. Maybe a misunderstanding?!

The article also states that octane can output passes (depth, UV, etc).. Does this work in maya or in the standalone?

Its there in maya in the renderer type along with path tracing, pmc, and direct light.
