I think you can already buy Rhino live.
Yes it is a shame that the integrated Octane for Rhino Plugin is not on the table.
But lets hope that the right developer comes.
The market and the demand is there.
I have chatted with Refractive Software and McNeel about this years ago, still wondering what's going on...
PLEASE continue the development of the Rhino plugin.

But who's behind that?, I mean, the exporter works fine and I'm happy to work with the stand alone despite few problems but have an integrated solution could be gold for the community AND Rhino community is huge..so a good turn around as well...but Rhino Live Euro 750 :!: compared to the most reasonable Octane price...frankly at the moment it sound too expensive to me.

750 for the Arion Live is a lot and way too much.
Random Control have a good marketing but the products are miles behind Otoys...
Anyway, at least that shows that there is a lot of need for an integrated plugin and Otoy will benefit if they make a move there.
Justix, if you have connections to developers please advertise.
What is going on with Sam Page. He is the brilliant head behind the stand alone exporter...

+10000000

In my opinion it is embrassing how Refractive and Otoy are handling Rhino users! 6 of 10 3D Artists i know, are working with Rhino. Car Designers. hundrets of jewelry designers, .......

When i show them Octane their first question is: What about Materials and is Rhino natively supported.........and i blush! :-P

Shame on you guys :-P :o

We're on it. Just like with Blender - we're committed to supporting all 3rd party plug-ins that our users ask for, so long as we are able to partner with the right developer to take on this work. Ideally, we'd love to support every major 3D app by the end of this year through the plug-in ecosystem. With 10 3rd party plug-ins already underway in the first 12 months, we're already more than halfway there.

That is indeed a good news..as a Rhino teacher I can only see benefits in pushing Octane for the render side AND like wrote already Rhino is so big in the 3D industry now (but always been) that I expected a bit of a priority for it like for 3Dmax..still..good news..hope is not going to take years..can't wait for a taste of it even alpha..
