Hi,

can anyone help me out here please, i am trying to import certain scene into Octane Standalone and no matter what i do, some object are turned specular after importing, thus losing the texture which is mapped onto them in MAX...its quite a lot of objects and textures to fix this manually, so please, is there a way to force Octane to import everything as DIFFUSE? I am seriously at loss here.

Hi, there are settings about obj mesh import in octane preferences.
iirc you can disable glossy and specular there.
Hit "Override settings during mesh import"
I am not at my workstation to verify but give it a try.

Cheers, mib.

the wavefront import dialog has some checkboxes to restrict material types - doesn't this help?
ps: your footer says octane 2.57 - i can't really remember, but it is not unlikely that this version hasn't this settings. if this is the case and you for some reason need to stay with 2.57, you might still edit the .mtl file by hand. a serach and replacel to edit specular values out should be faster to get than to edit mat settings in max...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

Thanks for suggestions.
Limiting materials to diffuse in Octane preferences did not help. Eventually i solved it by importing the mesh from the scratch instead of reloading it inside already existing OCS, then the textures are there as they should be and the materials are all diffuse.

EDIT: I have to update my sig, obviously i dont use 2.57 anymore :D Its 1.00 version i am working now on. Need to update to 1.1.
