Hi guys,
First of all, forgive me this horrible compression;P
As you can see I am not a cg artist, just need this work for school (architecture).
I wanted to make the renders look as a handmade model.
These are just some very first tests of Octane demo.
The model was made in Sketchup ;P to show the idea on the review, but I still have plenty of time for the final submission.
Just one quick question. How can I get rid of those horrible fireflies?

I'm amazed with Octane, thinking of buying a license but doe's it make any sense with my current laptop? (Hp Pavilion dv5, Intel core 2 duo 2,53 GHz, 4 Gb DDR2, GeForce 9600M GT with Vista 32b)
Cheers!

Hi ckrzysiek, for now you need a software to remove hotpixels.
In one of the next updated´s octane avoids hotpixels with MLT (Material Light Transport)

Photoshop Plugin:
http://www.redpawmedia.com/hotpixel.html
Stand alone software:
http://www.mediachance.com/digicam/hotpixels.zip

Cheers, mib

P.S. Nice renders

Thanks a lot Mib.
Still not perfect but way better.
I'm looking forward for next upgrade.
And what do you think about my laptop's parameters?
Octane usually crashes when I hit pathtracing, and it always crashes when I try to change maxsamples, even if I try to lower them. I don't know, is it my slooow computer or some software issue? I for sure have the recommended drivers, but Im scared of changing any parameters in the regisrty as it was posted here: http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... f=21&t=824

go ahead and apply them, it's very stable everyone has applied them.
i would'nt expect propper use of octane without them...

Ok, thanks a lot Radiance. I'll try.
I have to look for some 'step by step' instructions as I have absolutley no idea where shall I apply them;P

WOW, worked wonders, thank you:D
But will pathtracing help me to avoid those fireflies or have to wait for an update?
Now I'll have to invest in the comercial version, for bigger resolutions!:)
Any chance for student discount although Im 23? Still beeing a student:)
