Edit: Scratch all that... doing "The Mod"
http://www.overclock.net/t/1203528/offi ... ka-the-mod
If any of you are interested in watercooling your GPUs and/or CPUs - specifically with CLC (Closed Loop Cooling)
CPU coolers like those made by Corsair, Antec et al, head on over to OCN.. this is the way to go, I think, if you
want a self-contained system(s) - and not do a much more complicated custom WC loop. Much easier (and less
scary) to use CLC's, from what I have read.
With The Mod, you can install a CPU CLCs (Like a Kuhler 620) on your GPU and drastically reduce your temps.
And make things much quieter for yourself. Many of the blokes on OCN Mod forum are folding - and presumably
maxing out their GPUs just like us.
ARCTIC Accelero Hybrid GPU Cooler -- can I do this?

honestly! I see no point of using it at all, nor worrying about these temps..
..though if You're freaking out, better save Your money & buy Kepler =)
P.S. I owned two 460 (pre OCed models from gigabyte). the temps might be caused not because of limited space or airflow though. I observed that one of my cards were runnin' 80 while other only 60 degree under load. I thought that this was due to some bad batch, but one day I switched those =) & what do You think???..it turned out that now the other card was running more.. how come so? my mothebard had 3 slots spacing..?! air was not a problem..believe it or not, but one card was getting a bit more curent and that made a bit of a difference.. GPUZ indicated that clearly..
check this issue and try to tweek it, if You can (without causing stability issues)
Maybe that will bring Your temps down without spending a single dolar =)..
cheers

Darn - I should have also mentioned that I ultimately want to do this to all 4 cards when I have them in new workstation.. and try to make as silent a system as possible. So it is not strictly a heat thing.. sound is major factor.

well, if the noise is an issue, I'd suggest to build loop from scratch & have good rads, slow spining silent fans, 'cos these closed loopers are not always he most silent, plus You'll have a hard time to stuff them in the case.FrankPooleFloating wrote:Darn - I should have also mentioned that I ultimately want to do this to all 4 cards when I have them in new workstation.. and try to make as silent a system as possible. on the other hand..it would be costly..does it make sense to do this with 460s..i doubt..
p.s. read my first post once more..
