I am using the 1.17 exporter for Blender. I just set up Octane with a lot of my common materials loaded and settings that I commonly use and saved it as my default. My hope was that when I export to Octane render, it would load up my default file and put in my mesh. However, it doesn't seem to load up my default, but however loads up the "default" default Octane settings. (If I just load Octane, it does load my new default settings, so it works there)

Is there any way to override this? It would save me a lot of time in my workflow and would also cut down on mistakes like not changing certain settings like turning off vignetting.

Hi kavorka,

Here is what i do/have done:
1) open my default scene in blender
2) Setup octane plugin parameters with the project (ocs) file pointing to some self created template folder somewhere.
3) Fire up octane using the render image from blender plugin.
4) Setup the scene/ui etc how you want it and save.
5) Go back to blender and save this as your default scene in blender.

I know this is not ideal as when you create a new project you will need to copy this template OCS file into the new project directory and change the scene file location to this new one, but it seems to work ok.

For a more technical/permanent solution i think there is a file called ocs_templates.py that is part of the plugin that you may be able to edit to your liking, but i'll leave this up to Lionel or others that have done this or can give specific direction.

Thanks
Chris.
