If a software is "done", then it's outdated ...

Yeah, some communication along the way is better than hearing nothing. It doesn't need to be about the release, until it's ready. At some point, after weeks of not hearing anything or of hearing "it's almost done" for weeks on end, then Duke Nukem starts coming to mind...

So I'm waiting.

Glad I didn't make a John Romero's Daikatana reference then.

OK I've got a few questions.

How does the plugin handle merging daz studio files?

Say I have two studio files and both have materials that have been edited by the plugin. When you merge the files, will you have to start over with materials? Or is DS smart enough to keep the extra data that the plugin creates during the merge process.

If not is there a way to save material presets and import them?

a merging process is part of what the plugin handles. it'll keep both set of octane materials (and of course their links to the scene objects). render settings and environment settings are also added to the current scene. means merging a scene which contains octane data, will combine all together.

currently in the works is the user preset system, which exists additionally. means apart from all what is saved directly into a scene, you will be able to save copies of render settings, environments and materials as user presets to use them when/where ever you want...
