What are the chances of getting a correct motion vector pass ?

This would require octane to add channels to the frame buffer.... I doubt this will come soon. My bet is that they will add 3d motion blur long before having the ability to output custom passes (Z, masks, vector, etc.). But who knows?

Not really they can already export a depth, normal, and position pass. This can even be initiated as a post process which they already do with bloom and glare. I imagine the issue is one of gathering multiple frames and doing the comparison.

A vector pass will most likely appear at the same time as 3D Motion blur as the work that needs to be done to the Octane engine to provide MB (object transformations/deformations for previous/next frames) also needs to be done before you can write out a vector pass. At the moment Octane has no idea where geometry has come from or is going to while rendering the current frame so they can't calculate the vectors.

Edit: Of course if your scene isn't too complex you can always do a motion vector pass in Mental Ray or Maya Software.
