Can you run the Octane 1.00 installer? It sets up the correct TdrLevel settings. I don't think that's the issue, but better safe than sorry.

A few more things you can try:
- update the motherboard BIOS/firmware
- installing driver 306.97 using clean install

I don't know what the problem here is, but I can assure you it's not Octane that is killing your OS, it must be either the hardware or the driver. I assume you have tried all dual-GPU combinations of your 3 GPUs?

Cheers,
Marcus

OK new results, apparently I did not have SLI truly engaged, once I did and Ran the furMark test it immediately crashed showing it is not just Octane - you are correct.

I also tried your suggestion of Octane Installer but it still crashes. If there is any good news it is that the crash is reproducible in other graphics intensive apps, so my guess is that it is either the PSU, or the memory. I have tested this PSU with 3 cards with another mobo so I dont think that is it, but I also have approved memory for this board so Im back where I started, I just dont know..

Yes I have the latest BIOS
BTW 306.97 says it is incompatible

Hi buzby, try this:
1. Install new drivers Nvidia 310.90 only drivers not the other like: 3d vision, audio hd, etc.
2. If you have 2 Monitor. 1 Monitor connect to 1 videocard and another monitor the second videocard, not the same videocard.
3. Disable in Nvidia panel the Sli and the Physic put cpu.

If your problem persists then write and I'll give you another step which is delayed ok.

I see that you have an OC'ed CPU, have you increased any voltages?
Maybe try it at stock speed as this should lessen the load on the PSU. As much as i think a 1100W psu should be at least be able to handle an OC'ed CPU and 2 GPU's, the symptoms seem to be pointing towards it not (for whatever reason).

Thanks
Chris.

OK, I am leaning more toward a hardware problem at this point but for the sake of it...

1. Did it
2. Only have 1 monitor
3. Did it

No difference - same crash

Yes I am not overclocking on this set up, and I am only trying to get 2 GPUs to work at this point. I doo have a 700watt PSU I can try and see if that works, that will only leave the memory...

It would be weird since you said it was working fine with 3 on something else but still...
Anyway, Good luck and have a good weekend!

Thanks

Chris,

Yes it seemed like the only answer left, and yes it is a power supply issue. I hooked up a 700w psu and it ran 2 cards on Octane no problem.

One other note you may want to avoid the Apevia ATX-WA1100W WARLOCK POWER 1100W Power Supply for use with multiple GPUs as it has more issues than I care to detail in this thread, the most annoying being that if you use one of the cables with 2 sets of 6 and 8 pin connectors and plug both GPUs in on this cable it seems to fault the PSU and shut down the computer when you put an intense load on it. This was one of the problems why Octane with 2 GPUs rendering shut down the computer. I found when I used the same 2 GPUs and used a different cable with 6 & 8 pin connectors that it worked fine. This was completely unexpected and an incredible waste of time.

It seems that the 1100w PSU has issues. I will be upgrading to the Seasonic X-1250 1250W 80Plus Gold EPS12V / ATX12V Power Supply. Thanks to everyone for the help.
