Can I make partials of a material different by using masks?
In the example you can see I got a diffuse map and a mask for the shoes.
let's say I want the shoe to be very shiny or bumpy... Is this possible and if yes how?

As said above, use a mix material with an alpha mask for the mix amount node.
easy to set up.

also, you could just apply a different material to the shiny areas. I would go with this option if you run into problems with your alpha.

Tnx Bicket and Kavorka,
you pushed me in the right direction and I have succeeded in my goal and learned great things again!
Looking at the printscreen I have inverted some masks to get the result.
Do you think this is the easiest way to do it?
