Hi,
I installed the latest Maya plugin and so far it run nicely on my system.
The only problem I have is when I start Maya 2012, it pops up a warning window:
"Could not find this item. This is no longer located in C:/Users/render/Documents/maya/2012-x64/prefs/icons/LiveDB. Verify the item's location and try again."
I press on "Try Again" button, and it continues to start-up Maya and all is well. it happens on every start-up and its very annoying.
I checked that "LiveDB" folder and in my system the name is "LiveDBsw". should I rename it?

my system:
2x Xeon X5550
Vista 64-bit
12 GB ram
NVIDIA quadro 6000 with 12 GB GPU memory

P.S
How OctaneRender is optimized for the quadro 6000 video card compared to the GTX video card family?

Try to rename the LiveDBsw to LiveDB.
