I am definitely sure other file formats support would make my Octane usage life better, for me and many others,despite your opinion ! but I think
I've already made it clear. that I completely disagree with you in a radical way!!! :cry:
.I think starting this discussion is healthy and if you read bellow your reply , will see one of the advantages.
I happen to prefer working on the standalone version of Octane.The interface is unbeatable, the response , better!
3ds Max plugin is terrific but Max is a heavy software, and hungry too!My poor system even with a Quadro 4000 suffers.
And I am talking about facts here.

+1 Standalone cool and faster
the integration is very slow ... very slow work, the material editor 3d max brakes

Well, since I dont have any way to try the 3dsmax plug-in, I can't say anything about it. I think Alembic would be the only way to deal with all the features. But, Im suprised your not asking for faster material handling in 3dsMax and better response instead :)

what about the open collada (dae) file format, that was announced, when I purchased my beta?

This is a good question ! What happened to the Collada support ? :!: :?:
and Cloud Render ?It is maybe only, a matter of time ,I guess.

hi, roeland i been tested the last version 1.02 and i have a problem, the color white looks like beige, do you know why happen this ? i been used direct light with AO

Maybe the camera response or a warm environment can cause that, since its not light bouncing (it´s in AO mode)
