Hi everyone! I downloaded demo version to test it - got some basic question:
- How to position and 'save' camera. In standalone you can just navigate in the 3d window - is there a way to save and recall cam position and settings later? And to set different cam's...
- I realized that there is no official exporter now - can I use the old exporter with the 1.0? Is it the same which can be found on the forum?
Thanks in advance,

Attila

Hi Attila,

Yes, the blender exporter on the forums is the latest one and should work with standalone 1.0 fine.
In blender i believe you can just add additional cameras to the scene. Select the active camera in the scene properties.
In octane standalone you can use the node system to give you multiple cameras.
Just create your own render target and multiple camera nodes, and "hook up" the camera you want to be the current, active one to the render target.

Thanks
Chris.

I use blender with the 1.7 exporter. I add multiple camera's and just export with the camera I want as the active camera and it give me exactly what I need. I dont mess with the camera in Octane because I have more control in Blender.

Thanks for both answer guys! Will try when I return from holydays.
@Kavorka: so it means that you make settings inside blender/exporter
and only render in octane? Or do you make the final touch in Octane and have an Octane file alongside the blender file?
Thanks, Attila

Hi Ati,

I use Blender on a daily basis and I use multiple Rendertargets in Octane, not multiple cameras in Blender.
But I guess that's just a matter of how comfortable you feel about it, really...

Cheers,
;)

I set up my camera completely in Blender. I don't mess with it in Octane. If i need to modify it, i go back to blender and re export
