from the power supply starts to reach a characteristic noise-squeaking (like a job dvd-drive) when post-processing turn ON
I use GTX580 and another user with GTX580 also found a similar noise when post-processing turn ON
Problem with test release v1.01 noise in power supply!!!

the sound is definitely coming from the power supplymedvejo wrote:The noise is not from power supply, but from graphics card. Noise has to do with fps. When I turn on the vertical synchronization the noise is getting lower.
or out of it and video card together
but I think it is only from the power supply
lean your ear to the back of the power supply and through the grille clearly hear the sound inside

It seems that the noise is coming from the PSU for me too (though I'm not 100% positive).
What I'm sure is that it happens each time Octane updates the viewport - sounds like one "scratch sound" per viewport update, if postprocessing is turned on.

I have 2 GTX 580s and a Corsair AX1200 PSU, but I don't get the noises you guys are talking about. My PSU fan goes up a little, but it is barely noticeable, if nobody pointed it out, I wouldn't have noticed.

videocard does not matter
post-processing using the CPU
I was looking for a description of a similar problem in web
write that this is something to do with power saving mode
but so far I could not solve the problem of disconnection of these modes in the BIOS
I am very saddened that the developers did not pay attention to the problem and do not give any explanations or advice

I think that the noise depends on the motherboard
postprocessed using the CPU and its mode of operation creates a similar noise in the power supply circuit (it is possible that even in the throttle the motherboard too)
