error when opening OctaneRender in PoserPro 12

Windows 64-bit

After opening OctaneRender in PoserPro 12 and after I have acknowledged that I have to activate OctaneRender when the pop-up appears the following two pop-ups appear and then it seems to hang

Hi Douglas

I have had one other report of this, and the error is due to the OctaneDefaults.py file not being loaded.

Had you edited the OctaneDefaults.py file by any chance?

Can you pls confirm that OctaneDefaults.py is in the Smith Micro\Poser Pro 2012\Runtime\Python\addons\OctaneRender for Poser directory?

Could you post the octaneplugin.log file (from you Poser Temp folder -> Edit -> General Preferences -> Misc to find it).

I have been able to reproduce this error by copying my Poser install out of the c:\Program Files\Smith Micro folder onto another drive.

I will have a fix available shortly.

Further investigation reveals that this is only an issue with the DEMO version of the plugin. If you are a commercial license owner, you need to download and install the 1.00p installer from the link in this forum (separate thread).

I will upload a fixed version of the DEMO in the next half hour.

Please note I will uninstall and attempt to locate and re-install the commercial version (cannot recall if I installed the demo or not) in the meantime.

I found the error was only in the demo version - so if you download and install the commercial version you will be fine. The demo version has been fixed to.

Hi Paul,

I run into the same error as reported by Douglas and I use the 1.00p version. Strangely it doesn't happen with every scene I try to transfer to Octane, just with some. My version of Poser sits in "c:\grafik\Poser Pro 2012".

Seems, that I have sorted it out. I found, that I had the old demo version installed, too. I removed the complete OctaneRender folder and installed the 1.00p version again.

Now everything is working fine.
