Please try to get a blender plugin. I'm already disappointed that it's not listed anymore...

PM RayTracey with your info - and thank you for your help.

With Cinema 4D, we're on plug-in #8. The Octane ecosystem is growing rapidly, and we're putting even more resources into 3rd party plug-in development now that 1.0 is out. We'll support every app we can, as long as there is a path to commercial viability and a developer who can work with us to make it happen.

An integrated Blender plug-in, due to OSS issues, requires additional research, work and time to become a practical reality. It is not being ignored :)

What about working with yoyoz, He has made a wonderful job with his unoficial exporters. I understand the business point of view, but as Blender community grows you can have more customers for the standalone version and money is money, no matter where it comes.

Gonna hold you to that, this is one of the few things I'm willing to pay for.

Looking at all the options and reading opinions, personally I say that it's impossible to have an -integrated- Blender plugin.

If the above is confirmed by a legal team, then perhaps it is possible to have a stand alone application that reads Blender file format (which is an open format) and then to process the rendering separately from Blender itself? This is probably the least popular choice, but this is the only clear cut way to make sure that the two programs are two separate processes.

The other option is of course to use formats such as Alembic as the intermediate format.

I am no developer so I cannot help with this, but I really hope to get this plugin, even paying. I own an octane licence, and the engine is great... I really hope to be able to use it properly with blender! :)
