Hi to everybody, I'm a Cinema 4d user and I'm very interested in Octane technology but I wasn't able to find an answer to some of my doubts.
I need to produce animations with a vehicle controlled by Xpresso on a track and other stuff like this. From what I understood with third party Octane Power Tools it is possibile to have a realtime feedback only for camera animation (so this not working for me).
If I use the Cinema Exporter route is it possible to have a realtime feedback in Octane of the complete animation? From what I have read I don't think so but maybe I'm wrong.
Is there any production ready workflow to achieve my goal at this moment?
And last is there any general time schedule about when (weeks, months or years) the cinema 4d integrated plugin will be released?
Sorry for all these questions. I love Octane from what I can see, but at this time the animation workflow with Cinema to me seems a deal breaker.
Thank in advance and have a nice day!

Currently there is no integrated plugin and I can't give you any time frame until when it will be available. Sorry.

There is an export plugin available which still lets you render C4D animations in Octane, but it doesn't integrate Octane.

Cheers,
Marcus

Hi manlio

I'd hate to break it to you but the workflow may or may not be suitable for you right now.

Currently the export script for cinema4D is capable of this:

The above is quoted from user natalievfx whose post is at the forum area for the cinema4d export script which in turn is currently accessible to licensed users.

About the integrated C4D plugin, you may expect some news soon as we already have our sights on that project. however, it will be months before a working prototype will be posted...

Thank you both for your quick reply and clearing up something more.
I will eagerly wait the integrated plugin.

Is the script available as a plugin to test the demo in C4D?

I found the download myself so yes, the demo can be tested. :)

"Is the script available as a plugin to test the demo in C4D?"

Yes, you can attain the script/plugin here in the forum. You can test the script with the demo however you can not render out anything nor save a project.

Question. Expresso animations can be used, just there is no integrated previewer for C4D correct?

Also, is it possible to render out Turbulence4D smoke/fire simulations from C4D to Octane?

And what about displacement maps? I see normal in the stand-alone but what if want to blend in different displacement maps?

Thanks, this will help me better decide to purchase Octane. I was researching M4D which I really like but it is too expensive
and more than often I see Octane renders look way sexier than some v-ray/mental ray renders.
