Hi,
It is my first work in OCTANE, and I verry happy with OCTANE.
I have problem with noise in bigger scene (I read all information on forum about this).
I rendered the image 1200x1200 took 8hr with 3x GTX670 , DL Diffuse4 , 24000s.px and still alot of noise.
Lighting is HDRI, lot of windows with (architectural) glazing as glossy 10%opacity and 100% reflections (as suggested in some topics in forum), and lights as spotlights (but not sigle plane in lightfixture, but half sphere)
so I think there are many lights.
so I don`t know what to do to make imge noise free???
any comments?
below are two images with the same scene (only HDRI)
thx

looks nice. good work!
for the noise I have the same problems with HDR: SOme are perfect useable, others are generating tons of bright noise. I tried too blur them and what not but its still problematic.

I used HDRI in first two images. In night version with lights I used only blue GI + lights and is NOISE... maybe reflections? lights? I don`t know. it is imposible to render clean imagembetke wrote:looks nice. good work!

Hi ssokol,
I really like your renders, my favorite is the "villa 02"; the "night version" should be fantastic if it only wasn't so noisy.
Did you tryed only with the DL-Diffuse? (even for the interior?), haven't you tryed with PMC?
as mbetke told, some HDR are usable and other are not. I cannot find anymore a topic where a user applied a color correction map to an HDR and it solved lot of noise problems....If I found agin I'll ask him some questions.
The only suggestion at this point is to test tons of different HDR
maybe you find the one that gives you the desired result without too much noise.
P.S. what you mean with "but not sigle plane in lightfixture, but half sphere"
Cheers, Paolo

..try flat lights. Having lot of faces in emmiters do tend to bring longer rendertimes to clean up the image (this is the case for all unbiased engines, including MaxwellRender.. =)
For something like Your scene (with a lot of gloosy reflections) I would actually try to render on PT - might look a bit better =)
& Yes different HDRs do have noticible difference..though I don't really understand why..bluring don't always help.
Can you try the hdris from cgskies.com?
They gave me the best results with vray so far, better than the ones from peter guthrie.

One thing that always helps me with noise is to render at at least twice the resolution you want, then reduce it back in photoshop.
Go more than twice if you can.
