Octane v1.0 RC1
Modeled in Sketchup.
Used Smicha plugin to manage scatters.
Any comments appreciated.
PS : are there plans to support material opacity and png mask exports from Sketchup to Octane ?

Hi ppoublan,
I'm not usual at those kind of renders but i'll give you my opinion anyway.
I like the overall look of the render (like a lot the water shader and the vegetation) but there is something that sounds really bad in it:
- horrible shader for the wood bridge, all the planks have the same mapping...not good at all.
- same thing for the the boat shader (It took me a while for understand what it was...I thought it was a sort of fountain
).
- I'm not sure but I think that all the leafs in the scene have an RGB value, not a texture of a real leaf applied, isn't it?. Never used a .PNG file in Octane but don't know where stands your problem...you can create your masks from your .PNG file using Photoshop.
For me that's all
...now I'm curious to see what happens
Cheers, Paolo

I like the ambiance, but there are some flows.
I agree that the boat looks like a fountain : it was also my first impression.
Also, the pink leaves on the middle/left look like roughly cut out of paper. More subsurf would help or an alpha mask as suggested in previous post.
Nice feeling globally, but requires more work here and there imho.

Thanks for your comments.
Will work into these directions.
Regarding masks, my isssue is not how to setup it into octane, but that the Sketchup Exporter Plugin does not export textures opacity. But maybe my configuration. I will make more tests and post it in the sketchup export plugin forum.
