This is not just my problem all octane users need the matte/shadow shader. I am using 4 gb 680 and the VRAM is not enough. Right now i am rendering the scene with different parts and compositing them together on after effects. To solve the matte/shadow, i am using vray's matte shadow and rerender the whole scene :S. Please add this damn shader asap. Thanks

We are thinking to implement it.

well. i am glad to hear. But its the only way to render big scenes with lots of objects and textures. Is there a sdk or documentation to implement it. I can try to code matte shader or i have friends workin in game company they may help.

It should be in the first line of your to do list. Because Matte/Shadow means:
  • time saver
    better photo montage
    better render results
and the most important, render the big scale scenes as many parts with small Vram cards.
its more than a shader. Its best way to optimize engines capabilities. I hope it does not take long. Right now i am using vray to make matte shadow so almost i render the scene twice. :?
