I got tired of working on furniture (building up our library of octane ready models) so I spent a few hours playing around with these. Both were models found online. Guitar was free and the amp was $2.

30 mins cleanup
2 hours texturing and material setup
30 mins lighting octane_studio5.hdr plus the glowing tubes for the amp.

I think it turned out quite well. There are a few places where there needs to be some smoothing, but overall I am quite happy with it. I am not sure if this is up to quality standards for publishing, but feel free to publish some or all of them.

From Octane's download page. They provide a number of really nice HDRI studio light setups. They are really useful for this type of work.

I like this render a lot ! It looks very realistic to me, even the guitar material (wood covered with thick varnish).
A Gibson guitar and a Marshall amp, a classic. What about a Strat and a Fender 'twin reverb' amp now ? ;)
