I try the new beta2..is amazing!

I'd like to know if possible, when i import obj file whitout material definition, add a different material into octane:

When i import obj all is white and i have only one material for all objects.
If i change the color all objects change color.
If possible change color for each object into octane or i have to change this into my modelig software?

I hope you can understand me because my english is BAD!! :D

Thanks a lot!!

Currently you need to assign different materials in your modelling application (with different names like wood, concrete, kitchenfloor01 etc...)
Then Octane will see the different materials and keep their names ;)

If Your asking about something like this?? Than I know how to do that.

I've had empty nodes with no materials attached to it, and then I was connecting those :)

No. Triangle means that it already read from materials name of imported OBJ. If it doesnt, it leaves emtpy circle, and if You connect material there it will fill up. You will have material added in nodegraph , but its basicly the same thing. I was making this becouse I forgot to change some names, and something didnt import.

Currently an imported obj mesh will not allow you too selectively apply materials to the objects individually, as they are "linked" from the export operation to the materials you may have applied in Maya. JUST apply different materials to the objects in Maya. One material per object if you want. You would virtually have one input material per object when imported in Octane.
