TIG,

You wrote the fantastic plugin for exporting separate layers
http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=47296

Is is possible to add such function to your exporter? Each layer would be exported as separate obj. Let's say this would be an option called "export layers as separate obj". Names of obj would be after layers names followed by eg. # or _

And my second wish is :) "Export selection only".

Kind regards,

You can export layers as separate OBJ files IF you have Pro !
OR
You could of hide [OFF] the layer [or layers] you want to export.
[Note how Layer0 should be the active_later and be ON at all times... [earlier discussion!]]
Then use Edit>SelectAll and Delete everything that's currently visible [and therefore unwanted].
Now switch the previously hidden layer back ON.
Do the Export of the OBJ/Render...
Afterwards use three+ undos to revert to where you were, or close the SKP without saving...
This way only the objects on that layer [or those layers] are exported...

You can export a selection as OBJ if you have Pro !
OR
You can export a selection thus...
Select what you want to export and use Edit>Cut.
Then use Edit>SelectAll and Delete to empty the model.
Now Edit>PasteInPlace to reinstall the previously cut objects.
Thus the previous selected objects are now the only objects in the model.
Run the Exporter and make the OBJ/Render etc...
Afterwards use three+ undos to revert to where you were, or close the SKP without saving...
This way only the selected objects are exported...

TIG,
Thanks for your instructions. Actually this is the way I am doing it. I was thinking about some kind of automation of this process - open your exporter, hit one button and it's done :)

I'll look at doing an 'export selection' option...
I'm PM you a draft beta to try...
