just installed 2.58e on 10.8.2, macPro 4,1, GTX570
lol but i have a problem at startup, when octane asks me to type in my login and password.. i can type in a login field, but i CANT type in password field anything at all.. although the text-cursor is blinking inside that field and right mouse click opens "select all, delete..".. and of course the copy-paste doesnt work either. =(

Can you please try typing the password into the box as if it were doing it and click activate.
I have had this problem in the past and the text field is actually active but you cannot see what is being entered.
If you enter the password error free then hit activate it may still work.
