Octane render for interior design / decoration

Hello,
I'm an interior designer / decorator in France and I've just discovered Octane render. I can't try it because I've no GPU (and I don't want to pay 250 euros for nothing).

So I'd like to know if the interface is easy to understand and the software easy to use ?

To those who have tried ohter softwares like V-ray / Artlantis / etc ... is Octane better ?

for my experience Octane for Max (you need 3ds Max) is the best rendering engine (plugin) on the planet.

While you render you see a photograph inside your screen, often I'm impressed...and this is only the beginning...

To achieve photo realistic results you have to know photography and how to sculpt the light.

Obviously you need good gpu processors (Nvidia only) to get good rendering performances.

Today a good workstations with 2 performing gpus (GTX 580 or 680) costs a minimum of 2000€, it's expensive and your power bill will increase, but it's justified because, you know, this is a new technology.

Having used me Vray for 7 years and then the RT version in the early stage I decided last year to buy Octane standalone, and I said "wow", I had never seen before a so beautiful light in a virtual image.

When I say that Octane is the new Renderman it's the true. Renderman did a big revolution in the synthetic world, Octane is doing the same.

Thank you very much for answering Gabrielefx.
But for the moment I can't buy a such GPU.
But I saw that many users use some GPUs (quadro 600 for example) which costs about 200 euros and the result is already impressive.

If there are other opinions or advice, they're welcome.

Gabriel how good did Octane scale your 2nd gtx580 performance-wise? I am planning on buying a second one.

And Lucile, Octane is definately worth trying.

I'm using only the 580GTX model, the performance gain is linear, 2 GTX580 = 2X

But I'm so afraid not to have a beautiful image with this software.

On the internet, the results with artlantis studio for example are often rather impressive. I tried to work with artlantis studio but I never had a wonderful image.

I know that we have to work in order to have a "perfect" image. But what I often read about Octane is that software is not so hard to use and that we can reach a beautiful image (not perfect but a beautiful one) even if we are a beginner. Is that true or false ?

for me, using octane is easy (of course you need to learn first)

I also haven't using any of these software..That is why i don't have any sufficient information related to this. But i am really excited to know about it..
