Hi, long time with no post.

After playing around with the instances I decided to revisit my for ever unfinished "Green houses" scene.
Well I wouldn't say it was simple, a very huge work to export all the scatter files, to import them and organise all that stuff in a messy huge node graph but the result is quite satisfying. I also had to work a lot to get everything fitting in the 64 color textures and the 32 monochrome avoiding the repetition impression.
The main annoyance is definitely the loading time, about 12 minutes.

Assuming the scene with instances has about 15 million poly the rendering time is quite acceptable, but I mainly used the directlighting mode.
To be clear, all the trees are polys !

So enough blabla, here are the results.

What a nice revisitation!
It's more like green houses and the mood you created with directlighting is amazing.
Great post!

Can I just ask where you got your trees from? I've tried modelling trees but it seems like more effort than it is worth when there are really good trees that have already been modelled.

Very impressive. Thanks for sharing. What are you settings to get such realistic looking trees.

Thanks to all, very glad you like it.

Tugpsx, Stevep3:I modelled all the trees, well to be clear, I wrote a script for that, it's a bit tricky but I got to generate quite all models I need. Most of them are on selling over Turbosquid but I'm preparing my own model shop, I'll talk a bit more about that later on.

:o Not only it's very realistic, but there's a great 'atmosphere' in your images.
Tu m'en m'avais touché un mot l'autre jour, mais je ne m'attendais pas à un résultat si impressionnant ! C'est vraiment une réussite !
