What do you mean by blue shadows? That's how it's supposed to look like, don't you think? at least on exteriors because of the sky lighting the ground?
Pictures of what you mean maybe?

When using direct light mode + AO with skylight, everything gets too blue (unnaturally blue). Blue shows up most in shadow areas. This is know as "Octane look".
When rendering grey sphere on grey plane this blue look can be cool, but as soon as you start doing some more serious work this blue tone ruins your renderings.
The thing with Octane is, that there is no White Balance setting or any other way to correct color tones. At the moment the only solution is NOT to use direct light and AO combo. Which is shame cause it's the fastest mode and besides that blue tone issue it offten gives the same result as other modes. I offten end up not using AO only because of that "blueness". That also causes my render times to go up.
So...
We need a way to reduce the saturation/blueness of sky color. White Balance? Separate saturation parameter for sky? Something like that.
Thanks,
Suv

The interior scenes are blueish. Outdoor shots look "normal".
Additionally it DL has its diffuculies with sparely lit scenes.
When there is plenty of light it works fine but with a few candles it doesn't look realistic.
Initially meant as a preview kernel there was no need for realism but DL is now a really powerful asset of Octane render that can win the competion with biased renders as well when it has fine tuned. The ultimative animation kernel

If you have an exterior shot that's in shadows, then it is not Ok. It is still too blue.
That blue tone is the same in exterior and interior shots. Just that with exteriors it doesn't bother that much, but it still is unrealistic.
Blue shows up if there is less direct light.
Anyway, a cure is needed.
