I've created a render which contains a lot of indirect lighting, refractions, and transmission. It also contains a good deal of geometry. As a result, when using pathtracing and rendering with 128 samples, the image is rather grainy. What might be the most efficient way of reducing this grain? I'd prefer not to have to increase the sample count to something extreme.

Hi,
if you want to use only 128 sampling, you can try with v4 and AI Denoiser:

Here is the latest 4RC6 version:

Nice, I'll check that out. Although I was having trouble getting the denoiser to work in the last version. Any other settings you'd recommend to more efficiently render the image?

I assume there's not an updated version of the Cinema 4D version of Octane 4? I can't seem to find it.

Awesome! So are there any settings you'd recommend adjusting for a scene like this (low light, lots of refractions, transmission, and scene geometry)?

Hi,
nothing special with AI Denoising, just double the sampling untill you are satisfied with the result... 128 sampling is a very low value, not valid for all the scenes.

Oh no sorry, I just mean in general. Not for using AI denoiser. I still might prefer the older, more stable build so any advice I can get on reducing noise in 3.08 would be awesome.
