Here is a new version which is based latest SDK 3.05.3.

Standalone 3.05.3: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=58640

Fixes for 3.05.3:
- Activation problem on vdb objects.
- Fix: Update issues on environment engine.

3.05.3 sdk fixes:
[*] Fixed texture environment mapping when X axis translation is set to anything different from zero (see viewtopic.php?p=300203#p300203).
[*] Fixed a crash when setting any displacement texture UV transform scale component to zero (see viewtopic.php?f=86&t=58483).

Changes since V3.04.5-R2
- Fix: memory leak on ImageTexture
- Activation procedure is removed from startup. It will be activated when first Octane function used. Result is faster load of C4D but delay on first usage.
- revisions on animated ORBX export
- New distributed ray_tracing option for info_passes
- Vertex weights support for Houdini Engine objects
- Lighttag: Cast illumination parameter added
- Daylight tag: New ground color options

Requirements:
-You'll need to update your Cinema 4D to latest versions(16.050, 17.053 or 18.028). Otherwise the plugin will not work and not appear in menus.
-Internet connection for activation, be sure that C4D and Octane will not be blocked by firewall and any antivirus software.
-Updated Nvidia drivers(at least 344.x(Cuda 6.5 or later) for V2.x, Cuda 7.5 for V3.x.

Installation
First remove all octane related stuff from plugins and main folder of Cinema4D.

Extract all files to Cinema4D\plugins\c4dOctane directory.
Also download manual.zip and extract to c4dOctane directory if it's not available in place.

There are a few files for each one is for different Cinema4D version. Remove all except the file is for your version.
Ex. if you have Cinema4D R16.0, keep only "c4dOctane-r16.cdl64" and delete c4dOctane-r15.cdl64, c4dOctane-r14.cdl64, etc..

Cinema 4D Release 13: c4dOctane-r13.cdl64
Cinema 4D Release 14: c4dOctane-r14.cdl64
Cinema 4D Release 15: c4dOctane-r15.cdl64 or c4doctane_R15_demo.dylib
Cinema 4D Release 16: c4dOctane-r16.cdl64 or c4doctane_R16_demo.dylib
Cinema 4D Release 17: c4dOctane-r17.cdl64 or c4doctane_R17_demo.dylib


PLEASE IMPORTANT NOTICE
New License system:
We'll run it over the new license system and login window anymore. So you'll need to enter OTOY userid and password to able run the plugin and standalone. This is same combination to entering for Account page of Otoy.
This mean that you shouldn't try to use plugin id/pass pairs since this time. Also this system choose one of your licenses if you have many.

On any login issues see this post and topic:

If you have C4D startup hangups try to delete these files.
Windows: %APPDATA%/OctaneRender/otoy_credentials
OSX: ~/Library/OctaneRender/otoy_credentials (you may have to use Finder's Go->Go To Folder... and type "~/Library/OctaneRender" - without the quotes - to get to that folder)


CUDA requirements
Due to a CUDA compiler bug we had switch to CUDA 7.5, which means on Windows and Linux you may need to update your NVIDIA graphics driver to a current version which supports at least CUDA 7.5. On Mac OSX you may have to update the CUDA driver for Mac to a current version supporting at least CUDA 7.5.

BUG REPORTS
I'll be happy, if anyone can be specific on their bug reports.
I need to know that your plugin version/Os/HW and last operations before crashes to reproduce and investigate the same problem.
And please attach a SCENE and BUGREPORT.ZIP.
Please post your reports in topic of version which is related or use bugreports section of this forum

Thank you, starezloto texture works now.

But what is strange: I made a new custom workspace (including a live viewer window), and it takes quite long (xx secs) to load.

without the live viewer window, there's no delay.


EDIT: now it takes less than 30 secs, around 10.

Do you read change list? It will activate account on first usage of Octane functions not at loading of C4D. Activation time takes 6-9 sec. on me. You may have slow connection to Otoy server.

Could you please be more informative? It's being painful while trying to understand or answering a lot of posts at same time while working on plugin.

I don't care when C4D take more time to start. Because I'm starting C4D together with other tings in the morning. But I start Octane, when I actually working in front of my desk. Hope I'm more clear.

In this version, when I close the live viewer by clicking on the window frame close icon, Cinema will crash. However, when I first pause the live viewer, and then click on the close icon, no crash at all.

There's not any change to cause this since many versions!
Are you sure that's just happening in this version?
Are you sure that you don't force that to close while updating?
