Im using an hdri sky for my exterior environment, I don't want to see the image itself but only the original octane sky.
is it possible?

Hi,
yes, you can use the Visible Environment node with the Octane daylight node in it, and enable the Backplate, Reflection, and/or Refraction.
In this way, the Environment node with HDRI will be used for lighting the scene, while the DAylight will be used as background.
