What is the "proper" way?
I know that there is something called LocalDB, but how to use it?
Or maybe there is a better way?

Hi,

If you want to reuse materials always inside Houdini, the best solution is to build HDAs with the Octane VOP nodes that you need to build the material embedded inside. The important parameters needed to control de material can be exposed in the top HDA node, and these nodes can be used over multiple projects from a source library.

Hope this helps,

Thanks, Juanjgon.
It is possible maybe to save textures inside HDAs to use with Octane?

Yes, you can include texture maps inside the HDAs. This is a brief introduction about how to work with them:
