Re: Octane DB Is not working in Version 2023.1 28.11
I have the exact same issue. Has a solution been found? Or a workaround?

Ignore HDRI reflection on the floor
Hi,
I'm rendering a sequence to be composited on a video and since the CG object is sitting on linoleum, there should be a reflection. So I set up my plane I first intended as a shadow catcher on the floor to catch my reflections as well. But then I realized it was also catching the HDRI I use to ...

Re: AO render pass half lighter
Cool... If I'm not mistaken, I've setup my render to Float linear, because yeah, it is my plan to do more color correction afterwards. I've recently started to look into the linear workflow... Before that I did a render with a linear color space for compositing on some footage and it did work out ...

Re: AO render pass half lighter
That clearly didn't do the trick

Now there is the quarter thing I told you about. I'll continue investigating on why it does that, because it's clearly an intermittent thing and I don't think it happens on the full rendered sequence. My ...

Re: AO render pass half lighter
Cool thanks, I'll try those...
I have to say that the tonemap thing is still a bit obscure to me.

AO render pass half lighter
Hi all,
I have an issue that I have been experiencing I think only since Octane 2020. Sometimes my ambient occlusion pass has this weird lighter/darker separation. It looks like it's split in the middle (I also have it sometimes in the render... I think in the latest one, it was split in quarters ...

Re: Network render with Cinema 4D and licence
I see what you mean, but the same could be said for any function in Octane or any software for that matter. There are always functions you never use but end up having to pay for anyway. I do feel it should be included in the regular subscription

Ah shoot... Sucks. But maybe I'll do it... It's a bit money grabbing isn't it?

Re: Network render with Cinema 4D and licence
Don't know if that helps, but I'm using Octane 2020.1 RC3 on both machines (the master machine has both the 2020.1 RC3 and the 2019 1.5 standalone installed, but the C4D plug in is the latest 2020.1 RC3)

Network render with Cinema 4D and licence
Hi all,
I was wondering. you only need one licence to be able to do network rendering right?
I'm building a second computer and I'm moving my slowest card (a GTX 1070) on it and use it a slave computer for rendering and help with my Live viewer. I only need to install the standalone and the ...
