Hello,
I am thinking about moving into a GPU renderer, however I will move to the one which has the better material conversion from Vray as I have some objects and scenes done. Probably, as me, there are MANY Vray users thinking about a change, and, with the time, we will become learning the new ...

Re: Is it possible to import an .obj file with materials?
Ok!
Then, I'm thinking about reorganizing my method, I could make my 3D "base" in Autocad (Buildings, etc), export to 3Dsmax, which I have seen has a lot of free high quality objects (Maybe the modeler that has the higher amount) and, here is my current doubt, export to Octane or work with Octane ...

Re: Is it possible to import an .obj file with materials?
It sounds good! but one question; how do you export from Blender to Octane? (Maybe I can find a similarity with my soft and try to do it like you do with Blender, or I could do it from 3Dmax and only buy the standalone version
)
Thanks again
Thanks again

I'm using Autocad and then open it in Artlantis to apply materials and put objects like furniture etc, so I think it hasn't a plugin for Octane... However it can export to .obj but in other programs it opens like one blank material.
I have 3Dmax too, which I almost don't use, but ...

Is it possible to import an .obj file with materials?
Hi!
I would want to know if I can import an .obj file which have the materials applied yet.
Specifically I would want to "work" qith another software in which I have lot of textured objects, so I would set the model and the textures there, with furniture, etc, and I will go to Octone for lights ...
