Re: broken EXR light passes ?
hi Juanjo
I've just been in touch with SideFx and the problem in COPS seems to be related to the spaces in the channel filenames, i.e. "Light Pass 1". It is not handling the import correctly because of this. This explains why 'Z-depth' works, but 'Shading Normal' or "Light Pass 1" doesn't. They've ...

Re: broken EXR light passes ?
Bumping this thread two years later. This still seems to be broken in Octane 2019 and Houdini 18.
Lightpasses (and some of the info channels) rendered out of Octane into a mulitlayer EXR are black in Houdini COPS. They load fine in other compositing app.
I am using COPS for a lot of proceedural ...

Re: Octane Titan V support
hi Goldorak,
I am relatively new here, how long do these small point releases take? ie. when might I expect 3.09?
thank you.

Re: Octane Indie render resolution limit should be 1440x1440
Am I not being clear?
1920x1080 and 1440x1440 are the SAME resolution.
RESOLUTION = xdim * ydim = 1920 * 1080 = 1440 * 1440 = 2,073,600 pixels
EXACTLY THE SAME!
This is why I am able to render my 1440^2 frames in Mantra on Indie - which has the exact same 1920x1080 resolution limit as ...

Re: broken EXR light passes ?
Not sure how to save light passes to individual files.
I have three light passes enabled, and Output Image Files check in the Octane ROP. I tried setting the file format to "EXR untonemapped" and also "PNG tonemapped" (instead of multilayer EXR) and strangely, it renders one image per frame but ...

Re: Octane Indie render resolution limit should be 1440x1440
1440x1440 is the EXACT same resolution as 1920x1080 = 2,073,600 pixels. Resolution is resolution - I am paying for pixels, not aspect ratio.
I think it is fair to assume that SideFx's intention is to limit the resolution of render plugins to the same resolution restrictions THEY allow in Indie ...
