After weeks and weeks of researching this I think there's just no way to control Cd(Vector) or any other attributes in Octane C4D. What he is doing in the video you posted is not on material level and seems very limited (only two attributes) but I doubt either of them will work in C4D.

Re: Read Houdini Particle Attributes into C4D via Alembic
If I get you right, then this is exactly what I am having troubles with too. I've been looking for a solution forever.
The shader in Octane Scatter does absolutely nothing on imported particles. The colors, sizes stay random.

Re: Octane not loading
Yeah, it says "-Cuda 8.0 driver for OSX." which isn't true. It has to be a recent version of the 8-series or 9.
So its fixed now, sorry for the post.

Octane not loading
Hi,
I've been using Octane C4D for quite some time both at work and at home, and have installed it probably 20 times on both Windows and Mac with no problems. Always the same process, put it in Plugins/ only use the correct c4dOctane_RXX.dylib version and update C4D to the latest version.

Points from Houdini
Hi,
So I'm trying to control my imported points from Houdini with the shaders (scale, position etc). None seem to work. Am I just missing something? Or did I mess up my point export perhaps?
Here is the scene file:

Tnx!

Re: Motion blur on Alembic from Houdini
Ahmet but if u have varying amount of geometry like in a water sim? i think R19 will introduce the same vertex maps solution for alembic as realflow
In this case, normal workflow will not be enough. You'll need to assign vertex speeds by vertexmap tags like we do in Realflow meshes.
Ah I'll ...

Motion blur on Alembic from Houdini
Hi, I was wondering if it is possible yet to get motion blur on alembic objects imported from Houdini? I saw an old thread about this but thought there might be some news regarding this.
Cheers

Re: GTX_1080 benchmark
Just got my MSI Gaming X 1080 and was pretty dissapointed with the stock result. In fact, it was a bit slower than my Gainward Golden Sample 1070 which scores 140 stable OCed.
First result with the 1080 was 138 but I got it bumped up to 155 so I guess its ok. Hope it runs stable...

Whaa, that looks like a really sweet setup man. Must be ridiculously loud no? I can't stand the noise from my 1080Ti, I'm waiting for my EKWB watercooling gear to arrive so I ...
