Will we see plugins released soon? I'm still not seeing 1.1 for Blender.

Re: NEW: Octane X - is finally here! [MEGA FAQ THREAD]

Re: Octane X for Mac with AMD!!!

Yes we are porting EmbergenFX to Metal for iOS and macOS and Vulkan on Linux. Same with sculptron which is windows only. Both of these are going to be compiled with the same tools we used for Octane X. We’ve already tested EmbergenFX on Mac Pro in bootcamp and it runs great.

Dang. Well, even ...

Has this been confirmed? I was wondering if this was going to be a thing. I’d be so happy if it is.

I’ll take that bet
Maybe I’m cynical, but I sort of had that doubt as well. Thanks for the reassurance, unless you’re just a terrible gambler.

Re: Cycles to Octane material converter add-on

It looks like the main conversion functions of the code work fine. I think the updates that need to be run are just to bring the user interface code up to date with the 2.8x changes. Once Octane X comes out, I might take a look at updating it myself (although, I'm no Blender Python dev—basically, I ...

Re: Octane X for Mac with AMD!!!

Having seen the ray-tracing talk, my best guess is that this is the tech OTOY needs to release Octane. They’ve likely had a beta they’ve been building against for some time now, but the API changes have been pushed off to Big Sur. That would explain why the NDA was needed for the private beta. Now ...

Re: Octane X for Mac with AMD!!!

There is a Ray Tracing in Metal presentation on Friday at WWDC. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what we're waiting for.

Re: Octane X for Mac with AMD!!!

Well, there’s a public 10.15.6 beta out, so maybe we'll see something built for that.
