the problem still exists, I try this option before I start to write a post on this forum, this is the first time when I have a problem with the renderer, [I used Vray, Fstorm, MentalRay, Corona, Blender renderer, Maxwell, no problems with EXR]
do you have any idea how to save correctly ...

of course, you can't see any differences before you start to change exposure in 32bit exr files, so - with correct rendered 32bit file these highlights can be recovered by exposure, in 8bit mode this is impossible.
I and you missed this, you can't compare float(tonemapped) vs. exr saved from LV ...

You made me have to test it again. I cannot see any differences between both of methods. See my test. How do you really open and compare? I'm using default settings of Octane render settings.

select float() framebuffer and save as exr.

how export real 32bit EXR pictures from picture viewer? From Live Viewer, yes I have real 32bit EXR, but from Picture Viewer not, look like 8 bit after opening in Photoshop, please look at the image.
