The 2026 implementation of Splats is already amazing, I'd personally love to see 2 things added in functionality (if possible) to really take it over the top and those are:
1. Clipping material interacts with the splats.|
Currently there aren't the best tools out there to clean up splats but having clipping material ability to just hide the portions you don't want to see would be incredible - cut aways and even animations would be awesome
2. A propagated port to use 3D noises/textures/fields so you could animate noises through them with 3D noise to control the tint and an additional opacity channel to use the same - that way we could plug in a 3D noise to hide portions in abstract ways or procedurally grow the noise to bring the splats to life etc.. having the ability to control color and opacity that way seems viable since the splats already live in 3D space with controllable tint and general visibility.

Hopefully this makes sense!

Thanks for the feedback. It makes sense and we are already working on clipping material support at the moment. We are also planning to add support for 3D texture input for the tint color. As for 3D texture input for opacity - this will take more time to investigate and implement so we will probably look into it at a later stage.
