Octane for Unreal Engine

Changes:
  • Upgraded to Octane 2024.1 Beta 3
  • Sequencer: Reworked MRQ for both ORBX export and Image
  • Sequencer: MRQ ORBX export no longer requires octane to be rendering. Now exports all rendertargets
  • Textures: Added G16 texture format
Fixes
  • Textures: Fixed issue with cubemaps not using cubemap coordinates in materials
  • Materials: Fixed emission bug with unlit materials
  • Mesh: Fixed issues with nanite meshes not having tangent data
  • Mesh: Fixed issue with nanite meshes having seams sometimes
  • Mesh: Fixed material order bug that sometimes happened with natite meshes
  • ORBX Importer: All material types are now picked up and converted to materials. (Some dont fully work)
  • ORBX Importer: Added support for importing the following texture extensions: .tif .jpeg .hdr .exr
  • Sequencer: Fixed issue where frames were not updated when recording in Legacy or MRQ
  • Materials: Fixed issue where constant default values were applied when they shouldnt be
  • Sequencer: Fixed orbx export crash
  • Sequencer: Fixed orbx export filepath bug where it would not add a "/" at the end of the path.

Hi Support team,

I have tried this new version on UE5.4, however the masked materials are not support or having issue reading the Opacity Mask texture. It's working fine on 0.78. All trees in the scene can't render properly with this version.

This issue only happens on UE5.4, 5.3 works fine.

Im having trouble recreating this. Masked materials work correctly on my build. WOuld it be possible for you to share the unreal material you are using?

Hi Chris, Thanks for your reply.

I tested it with the default Megascan's Foliage Material. Blend Mode: Masked / Shading Model: Two Sided Foliage

Have you tested it with the latest Unreal 5.4.4 ?

Have you tested it with the latest Unreal 5.4.4 ?
Yea i tried with the latest. It seem to be working normally here.
Could you migrate out the broken material for me? This can be done by right-clicking the material and selecting the migrate option and select a new folder somewhere. Zip that folder up and send it to me.
