Taking out 2.48b and my new gtx 480 for a test drive. Quite an enjoyable ride! I was a little anxious about my psu (650w) with both the gtx 470 and 480 rendering at the same time, but power consumption for the whole system measured at the wall socket never exceeded 560w. No oc and no other apps running I should add.

Thanks! But for the photoshop autocolor, never. I prefer to choose the colors myself and not have adobe engineers second-guess my intentions. This is exactly the colors and contrast I was going for in this scene.

Is it possible that you forgot to tick smooth on the lamp covers?

i dont know if this is just a test for the new version or if you are looking for CC but here is mine anyway

Very nice overall, i really love the atmosphere and illumination, however it seems the majority of the objects such as the bed cloth and curtains seems duplicated, i dont know if it is just my eyes playing on me, but if not (and i know it is painstaking work) but to add a different cloth simulation settings for each such as mass, weight, damping, quality/resolution.
And the curtains, they look like plains extruded in to a fence instead, get a plain, slap a cloth sim, lock the top vertices, make some wavy objects for collisions, bake, delete objects.

But anyway, i love the windows and the concept :D

@ Radiant: Thanks, you are absolutely right in your crits here, bed-cheats are duplicated and the curtains for sure needs work! I wanted to make real looking curtains for years and now bought a copy of Marvelous designer, so sooner or later I figure out how to make them! Overall the scene lacks some details, but I grew impatient and really, really wanted to test my new gtx 480!

Hey Populus,

On your image the sun light is coming through the windows on the left and the right side - which is not possible. It's ok to have a fill light but the highlights and shadows should be a lot more diffuse. Also try to make a fill light blue in color, it will give you a better contrast in the image.

If you want to sell this as a sanatorium you should try to add some old looking crates beside or in front of the beds (for personal belongings). Also add some pipes for the radiators.... for the light fixtures try to go with some steel wireframe because in sanatorium nothing is breakable, also add some wire on the windows so no one can escape... :) that should do it.

All the best,
Voja

Sorry for my english :)

Thanks for your interest in my image! I know the lighting might look a little odd, its actually just the daylight environment, but I set the gamma fairly high to get the feeling that light is flooding the room. It´s just a hobbyist model so I´m not going to sell the scene. I agree that the room would look more convincing with more details like the one you suggested and perhaps I go back and remodel/add details in the future.

Best regards,

Tommy
